Frequently Asked Questions
What Are Your Fees?
The Australian Psychological Society provides recommended fees for private practice clinical psychological services. As of 1 July 2023, the recommended rate for a 50 minute appointment is $300. Our fees are set below this and are payable at the end of each consultation by credit card only.
Are Rebates Available?
Dr Gamble is a clinical psychologist and therefore provides the highest level of rebate in psychology. The medicare rebate is currently $141.85 per session, for up to 10 sessions in the calendar year. To be eligible for the medicare rebate you must obtain a referral letter and Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP.
We also accept private health funds and self-funded NDIS.
How long does treatment take?
It takes around 6-10 sessions to improve most sleep problems, although some people achieve change more quickly. If there are co-morbid diagnoses (e.g., anxiety, depression, developmental disorder etc) it may take longer. It depends upon the severity of the issue and maintaining factors.
What kind of treatments do you use?
We use only evidence—based treatments that have been shown to work. Generally, this includes cognitive behavioural therapy and/or acceptance and commitment therapy. Dr Gamble will discuss likely treatments with you after your initial assessment session.
